About

Hello! My name is Kristen Baldo, and I am the owner and founder of Simple Speech Solutions, LLC. I am a speech language pathologist in Charleston, SC offering private speech and language therapy services.

In 2017, I graduated from Clemson University with a major in Communication and minor in Psychology. The fall of that year, I began graduate coursework at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and graduated in 2019, after completing my final externship at the Medical University of South Carolina. I have over 5 years of clinical experience and have been a licensed speech language pathologist in the Charleston area for over 3 years in various pediatric settings. Charleston is my hometown and is incredibly meaningful to me. It is where I grew up, where my family continues to reside, where my husband and I got married, bought our first home, and where I look forward to putting more roots down.

I started Simple Speech Solutions with the intent of serving my community. Following the pandemic, I know there is an incredible need for early intervention and communication therapy services for all ages. Having worked in private practice and working in the schools, I also know that it can take months to receive an evaluation and actually begin therapy. Do not feel like you have to wait any longer!

I prioritize functional therapy activities to allow for seamless generalization and transfer of skills into everyday life. After all, therapy should be straight-forward and simple. It should make sense and align directly with the goals you want to achieve. I will make it a point to individualize each plan of care and target what is most important to you and your family.

You know your child best. I feel it is my job to listen, validate, and foster a safe space for connection, which will inevitably lead to communication growth. I believe in child-centered, play-based therapy and neurodiversity affirming practices.

If this is resonating with you and you’re ready to take the next step to get your child communication support, let’s talk!

Services

I have experience treating a variety of developmental conditions, including Autism, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy. I have worked with children with genetic disorders, hearing loss, and brain injuries. I have evaluated, diagnosed, and provided therapy for articulation impairments, phonological disorders, expressive and receptive language delays, and stuttering.

I would love to hear from you and support your family in any way I can.
